[Photoshop Guide] Creating a Cool Signature (KOF Sprite Example)

Make a new document [ File > New ]. I have used 400 by 130.
Next, fill the layer with black [ Edit > Fill > Black ].

Now find a sprite and place it on the left side of the tag.
Most sprites are small enough so u don’t need to re-size them.

Now take your brush tool and select a soft round brush.
Make sure the dot is big enough. Then select light green and make a
BIG dot under the render (bottom of the tag).

Now make another new layer and use the same brush, but this time a bit bigger than the last.
Use a dark blue color and make another dot over the light green one. Set this
layer to Screen.

Add a nice looking c4d intro the signature. Re-size it if it’s too big.

Now make a big white dot in the middle of the c4D. Use the same settings as
you used before for making the previous dots.

Add another c4D, but this time place it on the left side of the tag. You can
re-size it if you want. Now take your erase tool and erase the parts you don’t like. Make sure
you erase on low opacity.

Once again we need other c4D. This time place it at the top of the tag on the left side.
Re-size your c4D a lot, set it to Lighten. Erase the parts you don’t like.

Make a cyan dot by using the same settings as before. Make the dot above the sprites head.
Set the layer to Screen.

Make another dot, but this time a green one. Make it in the middle of the tag, on the sprite’s feet.
Set it to screen as well.

Apply image on a new layer [ Image > Apply Image ] then do [ Filter > Distort > Displace ].
Select one of your old PSD’s and then erase the parts you don’t like . I’ve
erased a lot, just leave some pieces on the left side of the tag. Set the layer to Lighten .

Now, add another c4D, place it on the left side of the tag then do [ Filter > Distort > Glass ].
After you have done that, re-size the c4D, place it around the head of the
sprite, and set it to Lighten. Now take your erase tool and erase the parts you don’t like.

Make a new layer, take your brush tool and select a soft round brush size (around 5 – 10 pixels).
Select purple and make some random dots around the spite. Set the layer to Screen .

Do it again, but this time make the dots on more visible parts of the tag.
I’ve made mine on the black background.

Do it again, but change the color to light blue. Now make them on the
sprite and around it. Set it to screen also.

Now add a nice looking c4D on the left side of the tag. Don’t re-size it!
Take your erase tool and erase the parts you don’t like.

Now copy the same c4D but this time re-size it, place it on the left side of the tag.

Add a c4D and then do [ Filter > Distort > Glass ] and place it on the left side.
Erase the parts you don’t like with a soft round brush. Set the layer to Lighten.

Now, take your sharpen tool and by using a soft round brush sharpen some parts of the signature.

Make a new layer and fill it with a nice blue color [ Edit > Fill > Color ] then take your
erase tool and erase the place where the main sprite is placed. It should look
like this :

Now set the layer to Hue .

Now take your blur tool and blur the parts that you want. I’ve blurred the right side
a bit as well as the left side. Don’t blur too much, just a little bit.

Terms used:

Sprite = Rendered Photo

c4d = A c4d is render made by the program Cinema 4d

I only want to share this technique in making Signature design
